Gordon came in our life 2007 when he bought our neigbours house in the mountains.
He was a real hard working man, and he loved to restore the house -room for room.
one afternoon we recognized the open window , and a very loud music ... "die schöne Müllerin" from Schubert sounds out, and we could hear it,..... the whole vally up and down. .... Gordon was painting the dining room.
we remeber very well his fabioulus cooking sessions, we were invited several times, and that have been allways very interesting and entertaining evenings.
Now Gordon has gone, we will keep him in our harts

When I first started selling Hi-Fi in the late 70s, Gordon was a customer. He was incredibly nice to a young 'erk' just starting out and was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge. As I was based in London and he was in Nottingham, he kindly invited me to his house when I was in town and I learnt an awful lot about Hi-Fi and life from him. We crossed paths many times over the years and he was always a pleasure to interact with even when arguing. A real one-of-a-kind character who will be missed. R.I.P Gordon - Rob Follis

I have worked with Gordon for many years with him doing the manuals for us at Tesco. As far as I was concerned, Gordon was an extended member of the team and a friend. His commitment to doing the best job he could was unrivalled, even when we made it difficult for him! But putting work aside, I enjoyed talking to Gordon and we had many a conversation about all sorts of things, and I will miss those. I had the privilege being invited to stop by on one of my motorcycle tours with Gordon and Alison at their Austria home a few years ago. Gordon and Alison were the perfect hosts and I enjoyed the evening we had eating Trout at the local farm restaurant. I could see why Gordon enjoyed spending time there so much, although I often wondered how he managed to drive there so frequently in one go whatever the weather or time of year! I will miss you Gordon. I and many of the Tesco people who have worked with Gordon send their thoughts and condolences to Alison and the family. Samy
